On Monday evening, 17 July 2013, the teenage theatre group of Antiparos, under the hospice of the Municipality of the island, presented the play: “there’ s wedding today…” and gained loud laughs and enthusiastic applause.
The play is a free adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet set in the small village of the Castle. The plot then takes various unexpected turns and by freely borrowing elements from various periods of time, including nowadays, gives a hilarious result. The audience laughed their heads off!
The cast was great and special mention should be made of the very talented Evaggelia Palaiologou as Aglaitsa, Minas Kabasis as Capulet and Giorgos Kapoutsos as Balthazar the servant. The latter caused loud bursts of laughter even after the play was over!
The play was directed by talented Maria Marinatou, while numerous members of the community offered their services for costume & make up, sound, choreography and photography to make this free performance possible.
Well done everyone!!!
